Government Rebates and incentive for Residential
The ecoENERGY Retrofit for Homes provides home and property owners with grants of up to $5,000 to offset the cost of making energy-efficiency improvements. ecoENERGY Retrofit grants apply to a host of measures that reduce energy consumption and provide for a cleaner environment, from increasing insulation to upgrading to a solar hot water heating system.
Through the ecoENERGY grant program, there is a $2,500 rebate available for installing a solar domestic hot water heating system. The Federal and Provincial government each contribute $1,250 towards this incentive.
